Sag Harbor’s history is presented to us with archival photographs by writer, editor, and designer Tucker Burns Roth, who is also a trustee of the Sag Harbor Historical Museum. Images along with well-researched descriptions and anecdotes reveal a “boom and bust” history from the heydays of the whaling industry in the early 1800s to its industrial era as a factory town for Fahys Watchcase, Alvin Silver, Bliss torpedo testing and Bulova in the late 19th century and the first half of the 20th. Throughout its history, Sag Harbor has attracted and nurtured a wide variety of artists, writers, actors, and, of course, weekenders.
