“Flag on the Mill, ship in the Bay”

In Sag Harbor when residents saw a “Flag on the Mill” they knew that a returning whaling ship had been spotted in the bay. The flag was always raised on the Beebee Windmill. The windmill has been moved to Bridgehampton, on Ocean Road; however, we are erecting a sign at its original location in Sag Harbor to commemorate this part of village history and lore.
